In 2001, work began on the 1,000-megawatt Mountainview natural gas-fired power plant. It was one of a number of new facilities intended to ease the energy shortage that had caused rolling blackouts throughout the state that year. Hunsaker & Associates was contracted with the Bechtel Power Corporation to provide surveying services for the completion of the Mountainview Power Project.
